Audi R4 Seeking Production Approval

Audi is working on its R4 sports car which is a mid-engined, Boxster-sized, sports car. One bad news though is that Volkswagen has not yet given it a green light to hit the production line. Volkswagen is still to decide whether they will use an alloy or steel body construction for this new model. The platform that will be used for the Audi R4 will also be implemented on the BlueSport which was previewed in the form of the Bluesport Concept during the Detroit motor show back in 2009. The Audi R4 was previewed to the public as the e-Tron Concept during the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. The concept version used an electric motor but the production version will have an option for a 1.4L turbocharged engine and a 4-cylinder 1.6L engine running on petrol. There will also be a 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel powerplant.

The Ferrari made by Porsche

Gemballa is all about tuning different Porsche models, but once in a while they also work on other exotics. The Gemballa MIG-U1 is based on the very rare Ferrari Enzo and was created for Gemballa’s Middle East distributor, the Illyas and Mustafa Galadari Group.

Main highlights of this modified Ferrari Enzo are an entirely new exhaust, new tailpipes, new front and rear bumper, new rear wing, new side sills, LED daytime lights, black rims and roof-scoop. Interior is upgraded with black and red leather, we also get to see a video screen.

Stringrays&Transformers

In a move to shore up public confidence following its stint in bankruptcy court, General Motors on Tuesday unveiled its 2-year product plan for the four core brands: Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GM. Included in the Chevrolet news is that production of the C7 Corvette will start in April 2012 for the 2013 model year. GM also added that the Corvette will maintain the front-engine layout that has defined the sports car for 57 years.

This is great news as earlier estimates had pushed back the C7 through 2014. This also means that the Corvette Team will now have the resources and the corporate edict to move full speed ahead on a new design that could see changes to America's sports car that include a smaller, lighter body, greater use of advanced weight-saving materials like carbon fiber, aluminum and magnesium and perhaps a smaller engine but one that will still provide the power-to-weight ratio that Corvette owners have become accustomed to.

THE SUPERCARS POST....

the pagani cinque roadster ($1.8 mil for that ass)

Thos carbon fiber/titanium Roadster is expected to run to about 217 mph thanks to its 678 horsepower Mercedes-Benz/AMG V12 – a terminal velocity that's the same as its hard-hatted brethren. Because the fixed-head coupe's structure is so robust, Pagani hasn't gone crazy with buttresses and braces, meaning that like the Coupe, the Roadster weighs 1210 kg (2,662 pounds) – a figure that Pagani says should help get the car to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds.

German manufacturing present the Gumbert Apollo Speed which can be customized to have an 800 HP engine (well damn...)
